Arenas Negra is a private, two-story oceanfront home on Puerto Rico's north coast in Barceloneta. You get the full property: four bedrooms, three baths, an infinity lap pool, a rooftop lounge, private stairs to the sand, and enough room to sleep up to 14 without squeezing everyone into made-up sleeping arrangements.

The beach
The beach below the house is part of a real north-coast shoreline. Some days it is mellow, some days it is more active. For calmer swimming, Playa Palmas Altas is a protected cove about 5 minutes away.
The sand
The sand runs dark brown to charcoal depending on the light. It is not fake-marketing black, but it is unmistakably different from the usual beach experience.
Getting around
Rent a car. PR-22 is about 8 minutes away and connects you to San Juan in roughly 45 minutes. The coastal road PR-681 has restaurants, bars, and good views the entire way.
